Work's been pretty crazy - but in a good way. I wanted to see the finish line, so that I can visualize it tomorrow during the more difficult parts of the run.

The LLR is 21 miles of the actual Houston Marathon course, starting from the George R. Brown Convention Center and ending at the Picnic Loop at Memorial Park. It's a great training run for the Marathon.

I've been waking up with a sore throat this week, but it's usually gone by the afternoon with cough drops and lots of tea.  I get a bit feverish in the evenings, so I bought two cartons of Tropicana orange juice with Immunity Defense, and have been taking zinc and selenium supplements. Well, tonight, another incredibly idiotic driver crashed into my car after he decided to go straight, when he wasn't supposed to.  

What could be worse than getting hit by two idiots within 41 days??

I've been running in Brooks Adrenaline GTS for the past year. I overpronate and have very low arches, which is why Felix, et al. at Luke's Locker fit me into the Adrenalines. I haven't decided whether I'll do a 9 min run/1 min walk or 11 min run/1 min walk, etc., but the important thing is that I've convinced myself that it's OK not to run the whole 12 miles without stopping tomorrow.

On the other hand, I'm running 10 miles tomorrow with my running group, and I do not expect to survive. I haven't run all week, and I missed last Saturday's run. If I do die from tomorrow's run, there's a 6-pack of Negra Modelo in the fridge for whoever feeds Skokie.

One thing I've noticed is that things change every day at Reliant Park. Systems that were in place one day may be completely different the next. A station that was set up on the first floor might be on the third floor tomorrow. Spent the day working with pediatric triage, collecting information on health symptoms in the babies/kids. Lots of rashes on the babies and toddlers from being in that nasty water.
